We're in this wave together! (#4) and we're looking forward to our second gig of the year in 2022 with two sets of  Valentine-themed jazz at the Sylvia Hotel (February 13), our first performance at this beautiful venue since the pandemic started!

2021 didn't start with a bang, but things got better for live music as restrictions were lifted in June 2021. Jazzlinks was very busy during the summer with outdoor music  in  Bear Creek Park  (Linda Szentes solo piano/voice), Maple Ridge (Memorial Peace Park) and Pitt Meadows (Spirit Square). As vaccination rates have increased and senior's homes have opened to visitors, we were incredibly fortunate to be able to entertain seniors with our music during the summer and fall as well .

202o started and ended with successful Jazz Vespers performances from my combo - Linda Szentes and Jazzlinks -  at United Churches of Langley in Murrayville; the first was a live performance in January and the last was a livestream in November (no, I don't mean fishing).  What happened in between was the Covid 19 pandemic:  like many other musicians, we had a number of gigs cancelled in spring and summer. However, with a little help from our friends, we discovered  a great space to have our first self produced Livestream on Facebook in July (see videos below). Based on the success of this performance, we  were invited by the Abbotsford Arts  Council to perform  for another online show in August.  I have to thank not only my band  - Mike, Joe and Zoltan - but also my tech crew: Laszlo for video production and the cool basement, and Garth, my hubby, for sound engineering.
